About the Role

Alter Trading Corp is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the daily operations of our Cheyenne facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of our metal recycling operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Oversee the ferrous and non-ferrous departments, supervise employees, and make key decisions regarding staffing, training, and discipline.
  • Customer Relations: Interact with customers on a regular basis, maintain excellent relationships with commercial and peddler customers, and issue payments as needed.
  • Operations Management: Maintain company safety and environmental objectives, ensure ISO and OSHA compliance, and supervise building and equipment maintenance.
  • Financial Management: Manage costs, expenditures, and budgets, and take action to meet or exceed targets for yard volume, net profit, and ROI.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and monitor annual budgets and monthly operating reports, and operate yard equipment as needed.
About You
  • Industry Experience: 5 years of experience in the recycled metals industry, with a strong preference for supervisory experience.
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, management, or a related field.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent open communication style to build trust and confidence within the company and with external vendors and customers.
  • Travel: Ability to travel occasionally to other facilities or customers as needed.
