Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to enhance our Human Resources team, collaborating closely with the Director of Human Resources at MomsRising Together and MomsRising Education Fund. The HR and Benefits Administrative Assistant will deliver essential support to the HR department and engage with staff throughout the organization.

This contractual position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and will operate remotely, connecting with team members located in various regions.

About MomsRising Organizations:

MomsRising Together is a 501(c)(4) virtual organization with a nationwide staff. MomsRising Education Fund, its affiliated 501(c)(3) public charity, works in tandem with the core team of paid staff and volunteers to develop strategies and campaigns. As virtual organizations, we rely heavily on conference calls, Slack, and email for communication, collaboration, and mutual support. Our team thrives in a results-oriented environment that recognizes the challenges and rewards of balancing work, family, and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and evaluate staff healthcare surveys.
  • Assist the HR Director with document management and HR inbox organization.
  • Oversee, assign, and respond to inquiries in the HR inbox.
  • Manage incoming faxes and direct them to the appropriate teams.
  • Coordinate meetings for the HR team and the Healthcare Working Group (HWG).
  • Arrange Open Enrollment discussions with brokers and staff.
  • Oversee the HWG Slack channel and address messages/requests.
  • Maintain communication with brokers.
  • Participate in broker meetings, taking and distributing notes to partners.
  • Support multistate tax compliance efforts.
  • Facilitate administrative or financial tasks as necessary, providing backup support to HR, Finance, Admin, and Operations teams.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with outstanding communication and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable in a virtual work environment, proficient in Slack, conference calls, and email communication.
  • Adaptable and committed to achieving objectives.
  • Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint (and Google Docs), email, and database management.
  • Able to provide effective support to the Director of Human Resources, ensuring the HR team remains organized and focused on completing Open Enrollment.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and complex requests with precision.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a comprehensive perspective.
  • Skilled in handling sensitive and confidential information with care.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Preference for East Coast working hours.

Working Conditions:
This is a fully remote position, with no physical office. Employees will work from their own homes and utilize technology for communication. Flexible hours are available, with no requirement for evening or weekend work.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work at a desk for extended periods and communicate verbally. Regular tasks will involve using hands to operate keyboards, reaching with hands and arms, and the ability to perform complex mental functions while managing multiple deadlines and projects. Compensation:

This is a full-time contractual role with a compensation of $5,000 per month.
