Position Overview

The role of the Senior Accountant Fund involves overseeing the daily accounting and valuation processes for mutual funds. This position requires a strong background in mutual fund valuations, accounting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily accounting and valuation of the Great West Funds under general supervision.
  • Assist in the training of new portfolio accountants and support the Manager in reviewing monthly reports and daily reconciliations.
  • Process daily cash transactions, post accounting entries, and prepare wire requests while ensuring timely clearing of cash activities.
  • Review new security master file setups for new portfolio security purchases.
  • Reconcile portfolio contributions and withdrawals to Transfer Agent Activity.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly reconciliation reports for the Funds.
  • Investigate reconciling items and resolve open issues related to GL accounts.
  • Prepare various financial and compliance reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Lead support activities for internal and external audit requests.
  • Participate in departmental projects aimed at meeting annual bonus objectives.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Four to five years of experience in mutual fund valuations, accounting, and/or financial reporting.
  • If lacking a specialized Bachelor's degree, an additional four years of directly related experience is required.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.
