Position Summary

The Sous Chef role is pivotal within our culinary team, providing guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance food quality and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience and a strong commitment to exceptional food and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and fellow Sous Chefs to lead a diverse team.
  • Maintain recipe and nutritional standards.
  • Adapt to daily menu modifications.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship in daily kitchen operations.
  • Act as the primary contact for best practices during service periods.
  • Work closely with lead cooks to ensure efficient shift operations.
  • Assist in the weekly creation of menus and recipes.
  • Support the ordering and sourcing of ingredients.
  • Be willing to assist any station or team member as required.
  • Take on additional leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Demonstrate flexibility as service times and schedules may vary.
Detailed Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Achieve financial targets and adhere to budgets.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate and monitor inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with kitchen management procedures.
  • Create menu specifications as needed.
  • Set standards for chef table presentations.
  • Conduct daily quality checks to ensure flavor standards.
  • Lead culinary operations on game days.
  • Manage monthly inventory in collaboration with the purchasing team.
  • Monitor and manage food waste effectively.
  • Ensure employee breaks are managed for team well-being.
  • Address performance issues with team members as necessary.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new culinary staff.
  • Ensure all aspects of food ordering, delivery, preparation, and service meet high standards.
  • Manage the culinary department budget.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a culinary leadership role.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of financial principles.
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and retail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
