Role Summary: We are honored to represent our client in the search for a dynamic and experienced individual to assume the role of Vice President for Global Engagement and Services (VPGES). This leadership position presents a unique opportunity to enhance international engagement and cultivate global partnerships within a prestigious higher education institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, collaborating with institutional leadership to support initiatives, projects, and scholarly activities pertinent to global and international affairs.
  • Play a crucial role in enhancing international engagement at the institutional level, fostering global partnerships, and supporting faculty, staff, and students with international interests.
  • Work closely with academic and administrative units to ensure that international programs and support services align with the institution's mission, priorities, and values.
  • Oversee the administration of global/international programs, international student services, global research collaborations, and faculty-led initiatives.
  • Partner with the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement on international matters related to donors, initiatives, and programs.
  • Collaborate with academic deans, Vice Provosts, department chairs, faculty, and other key stakeholders to enhance student engagement efforts, including study abroad programs and international student recruitment.
  • Support faculty in their international research and scholarship endeavors.
  • Maintain partnerships with international institutions, organizations, and governmental agencies to support collaborative research, academic exchange, and other initiatives.
  • Manage the budget and resources allocated to international engagement activities, ensuring efficient and effective use of financial resources.
  • Strengthen the financial profile through international engagement and student recruiting efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant US and international laws, regulations, and institutional policies related to international activities.
  • Mitigate risks associated with international engagement efforts, ensuring the safety of students and scholars while traveling abroad.
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for international engagement efforts, representing the institution in various forums and events.
  • Communicate the global impact of research and education.

Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree in Higher Education Administration, International Studies, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in international education, global affairs, or related fields, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of successful program development, implementation, or management.
  • Familiarity with internationalization frameworks and accreditation standards in higher education.
  • Proficient in language facilitation.
