Electrical Protection Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Protection Systems Engineer to join our team at PacifiCorp. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical protection systems for our transmission and distribution facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop protection system schematic designs and conduct short circuit and symmetrical component analysis.
- Perform protection system coordination studies and develop relay settings and protection system automation logic.
- Conduct arc flash analysis and manage integration with SCADA systems.
- Develop complex electrical engineering studies, plans, and detailed scopes of work.
- Provide peer review and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Deliver on commitments and comply with NERC, FERC, and WECC regulations.
- Occasional travel for project work and training.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited university.
- A minimum of five years directly applicable engineering experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty.
- Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member and maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Understanding of company's business and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge and application of engineering principles in the area of substations design, power system protection, and/or power system analysis.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers, including automated tools.
- Professional Engineering License (PE).
- Power systems-focused Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or Master's of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (MEngEE).
- Proficiency in substation design and power system protection.
- Experience with Aspen-OneLiner and Doble-PowerBase software.
