As a vital member of the Vertical Electrical & Software Architecture (VESA) team, you will play a crucial role in defining the integrated vehicle electrical and software architecture for future vehicle programs. Collaborating with specialists across hardware, software, networking, and platform systems, you will help shape the electrical and software landscape of our vehicles. Key responsibilities include:
Your Responsibilities:
- Establish strategies for vehicle electrical power distribution and delivery.
- Analyze various power sources (e.g., high and low voltage batteries, ultracaps, DC/DC converters) to design how different Electronic Control Units (ECUs) receive power.
- Understand the power requirements of features and their operational modes to formulate effective power strategies.
- Allocate loads to various power delivery ECUs and assist in selecting appropriate FETs and fuses.
- Create and utilize models to define and validate power distribution and delivery strategies.
- Support the integration of power distribution and delivery ECUs into vehicle designs.
- Collaborate with the Electrical Distribution Systems team to ensure optimal selection of EDS components.
- Assist manufacturing processes, including In Station Process Control and Testing.
- Facilitate systems integration and validation of power distribution and delivery architecture to achieve successful functionality at critical vehicle milestones.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to define and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for power usage.
- Contribute to the development of power strategies for future architectures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience and education.
- Over 10 years of experience with embedded systems.
- At least 5 years of experience in low voltage power delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in power delivery to vehicle systems.
- 5+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical and software systems.
- Experience with tools such as MagicDraw, Matlab, or similar.
- Proficiency in scripting and data analysis.
- Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles.
- Exceptional leadership skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to serve as an open-minded change agent.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
