Position Overview

LMI is in search of a proficient junior Analyst to contribute to the Department of Defense, specifically within the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Logistics), Transportation Directorate. This role is designed for an individual who can exhibit leadership capabilities, critical thinking skills, and adept client relationship management while maintaining the utmost ethical standards to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing Transportation Programs for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics.
  • Oversee daily operations of a government-wide transportation initiative.
  • Formulate strategic plans based on evaluations of functional areas and organizational objectives.
  • Gain familiarity with military transportation modes including surface, air, and sea.
  • Lead projects aimed at analyzing and recommending enhancements for Transportation Policies.
  • Support government entities such as the OSD Staff, Joint Staff, and Combatant Commanders in Transportation Policy to ensure efficient and cost-effective performance.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across various locations.
  • Evaluate DoD and other governmental logistics and supply chain policies against performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Offer administrative and technical writing assistance to maintain and update DoD transportation issuances and related operational documents.
  • Work with relevant government stakeholders to gather and articulate information for DoD and other agency issuances.
  • Engage with appropriate personnel to identify and document current and future changes in business processes.
  • Provide program management support for seminars, meetings, and work teams; conduct data analysis; and prepare briefings and documentation for DoD leadership.
  • Draft and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, and reports, while managing communication platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in government logistics and business processes.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to interact effectively with senior executives.
  • Capacity to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Detail-oriented and self-directed, capable of adapting to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the SECRET level. Must be a US citizen.
