Position Overview

LMI is in search of a proficient junior Analyst to contribute to the Department of Defense, specifically within the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Logistics), Transportation Directorate. This role requires an individual who exhibits strong leadership capabilities, critical thinking skills, and adept client relationship management while maintaining the utmost ethical standards to assist the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role may encompass:

  • Assisting in the management of Transportation Programs for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics.
  • Overseeing daily operations of a government-wide transportation initiative.
  • Formulating strategic plans based on evaluations of functional areas and organizational objectives.
  • Gaining familiarity with military transportation modes, including surface, air, and sea.
  • Leading projects that analyze and propose enhancements for Transportation Policies.
  • Providing support to government entities in the realm of Transportation Policy to ensure efficient and cost-effective performance.
  • Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders across various locations.
  • Evaluating DoD and other governmental logistics and supply chain policies against performance metrics and suggesting improvements.
  • Offering administrative and technical writing assistance to maintain and update transportation issuances and operational documents.
  • Collaborating with government stakeholders to gather and articulate information for relevant issuances.
  • Identifying and documenting current and future changes in business processes for policy and procedural issuances.
  • Delivering program management support for seminars, meetings, and work teams; conducting data analysis; and preparing briefings and reports for DoD leadership.
  • Drafting and finalizing correspondence, including letters, memoranda, briefings, and presentations, while managing communication channels.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience in government logistics and business processes (preferably within DoD).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to effectively engage with senior executives.
  • Capability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the SECRET level. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
