Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of a government-wide procurement category.
  • Evaluate transportation and logistics procurements to uncover opportunities for enhanced efficiency and cost savings.
  • Formulate strategic plans informed by assessments of functional areas and organizational objectives.
  • Gain familiarity with military transportation across surface, air, and sea modes.
  • Lead projects aimed at analyzing and recommending improvements for Transportation Policies.
  • Assist government entities such as the OSD Staff, the Joint Staff, and Combatant Commanders in Transportation Policy to ensure efficient, cost-effective performance across the enterprise.
  • Support all Federal Executive agencies in government-wide Category Management to promote collaboration and community engagement.
  • Engage with a diverse array of stakeholders across various geographical locations.
  • Analyze and evaluate logistics and supply chain policies and procedures of DoD and other government agencies against current performance metrics, providing recommendations for policy and process enhancements.
  • Offer administrative and technical writing support to maintain and update DoD transportation issuances and other operational documents.
  • Collaborate with relevant government stakeholders to gather and articulate information for DoD and other agency issuances.
  • Work with appropriate personnel to identify and document current and future changes in business processes for policy and procedural issuances.
  • Provide program management support for various seminars, meetings, and work teams; conduct data analysis; prepare briefings and documents for all levels of DoD leadership, and perform research to support DoD Transportation policies.
  • Draft and finalize correspondence, including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports. Maintain communication channels such as distribution lists, rosters, and SharePoint sites.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in DoD logistics and business processes.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and tact, with the ability to effectively engage with senior executives from both Government and industry.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of adapting to changing work demands and managing shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the SECRET level. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Military/Civilian Transportation.
  • Background in management consulting.
