Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role may encompass:

  • Assisting with Transportation Programs for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics.
  • Overseeing the daily operations of a government-wide transportation initiative.
  • Formulating strategic plans based on evaluations of functional areas and organizational objectives.
  • Gaining familiarity with military transportation across surface, air, and maritime modes.
  • Leading projects aimed at analyzing and recommending enhancements for Transportation Policies.
  • Providing support to government entities in the domain of Transportation Policy to ensure efficient and cost-effective performance.
  • Collaborating with a diverse array of stakeholders across various locations.
  • Evaluating and assessing logistics and supply chain policies of the DoD and other government agencies against current performance metrics, offering recommendations for improvements.
  • Delivering administrative and technical writing assistance to maintain and update transportation-related documents.
  • Working alongside government stakeholders to gather and articulate information for relevant issuances.
  • Identifying and documenting current and future changes in business processes related to policy and procedures.
  • Offering program management support for seminars, meetings, and work teams; conducting data analysis; and preparing briefings and reports for DoD leadership.
  • Drafting and finalizing correspondence, including letters, memoranda, and presentations, while managing communication channels.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience in government logistics and business processes (DoD experience preferred).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to interact effectively with senior executives from both government and industry.
  • Capability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • This position necessitates an active security clearance at the SECRET level. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Military/Civilian Transportation.
  • Background in management consulting.
