Position Overview:
Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our Facilities and Site Services Mechanical Maintenance team. This role operates on a 4x10 schedule, providing a unique work-life balance with every Friday off. All tasks are conducted onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components.
  • Utilize technical drawings, schematics, and specifications while employing modern tools and techniques.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to colleagues in various phases of work to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation, manuals, and labels.
  • Maintain accurate records, including time sheets and other documentation.
  • Engage in regular communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Participate in planning sessions and assist in estimating work hours.
  • Deliver on-the-job training (OJT) to fellow craftspeople, contribute to maintenance evaluations, and assist with material procurement as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with work control processes and accurately document all completed tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or completion of a 2-year vocational training program plus 3 years of related experience; or a recognized trade apprenticeship with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • A valid state driver's license is required for the duration of employment.
  • This position necessitates the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The hourly wage for this position is $43.04 (subject to variation based on work location, clearances, and qualifications).
