Director of Business Development

NW Recruiting Partners is seeking a seasoned Director of Business Development to drive growth and expand client relationships across multiple regions. This strategic hire will play a key role in developing and executing growth strategies, managing client interactions, and supporting revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Engagement: Identify and collaborate with local and programmatic clients to drive revenue across regions and profit centers.
  • Strategy Development: Assist Leadership in creating and executing growth strategies.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Enhance communication in marketing, talent acquisition, and business development teams.
  • Bid Management: Lead strategic bids, driving best practices and ensuring high-quality submissions for large-scale projects.
  • Pipeline Planning & Bid Coordination: Develop and manage the pipeline, coordinate bids, write proposals, and oversee the bid development process for framework call-offs and new work.
  • Pursuit Coaching: Provide coaching on the pursuit process for major new client opportunities.
  • Market Research: Research target sectors, prospective clients, and decision-makers to guide revenue strategy.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients through meetings, pitches, and contract negotiations.
  • Business Development: Drive regional client relationship management and business development activities.
  • Project Management: Participate in managing client plans and updates.
  • Meeting Preparation: Schedule client meetings, host pre-meeting prep calls, and ensure action items are completed post-meeting.
  • Proposal Preparation: Aid in preparing business proposals, presentations, and other materials.
  • Database Management: Maintain accurate client databases and contact lists.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in the consulting construction industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in Business Development/Generation.
  • Proactive, quality-driven, and hands-on leader who can manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and senior management.
  • Experience leading professional teams with a focus on growth and development.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
