Position Summary

The Operations Manager will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing safety protocols, improving product quality, reducing lead times and costs, and boosting overall productivity while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all operational processes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members at all levels, including shop floor staff, management, and senior leadership.
  • Lead and mentor supervisors to maintain optimal staffing levels that align with operational objectives.
  • Address employee concerns through established leadership practices, including setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and offering constructive feedback.
  • Deliver actionable insights regarding production capabilities, tooling, and equipment procurement.
  • Plan and manage annual improvement targets for the operation.
  • Become proficient in the ERP system to support key business processes.
  • Analyze performance metrics regularly to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Report on operational performance to senior management, offering both tactical and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, sales, and procurement teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting continuous improvement by engaging team members in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Oversee project management for non-engineering initiatives within the business unit.
  • Contribute significantly to the strategic planning efforts of the organization.
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff, motivating them to achieve high performance and contribute to the company's growth.
  • Clearly communicate the company's vision and expectations to team members, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or a related technical field, along with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Key qualifications include:

  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, Kaizen, and Visual Factory Concepts.
  • Understanding of statistical process controls and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex business issues and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing is highly desirable.
