Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team at Wiegel. As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure conformance to customer and company specifications.
  • Work from piece prints and blueprints to set up gauges and machinery and record trends and findings.
  • Participate in intra-departmental communications to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Determine disposition and capability of finished product by collecting, classifying, analyzing, and interpreting production and quality data.
  • Maintain quality assurance operations by following quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate reliability of source information by weighting raw data and reviewing parts history.
  • Presents data by computer readouts, graphs, charts, tables, written reports, or other methods.
  • Resolves testing problems by checking measuring equipment and notifying supervisor of problems.
  • Records outcomes for part issues and crisis by collecting and inputting data.
  • Maintains safe and clean test environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and keeping work area neat.
  • Maintains company reputation by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements.
  • Prepares shift meeting information by identifying and describing problematic production, equipment, and characteristics.
  • Contributes to team, company, and TS goals by initiating continuous improvement and working effectively with other employees and departments.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance standards by reporting to work every day as expected and scheduling time away in advance of absence when necessary.
  • Maintains clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) preferred.
  • Reading and understanding of Blueprints, Piece Prints, and GDT preferred.
  • Understanding and using a variety of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparators, vision system, etc.) preferred.
  • Math abilities including addition, subtraction, use of fractions, decimals, and conversion of metric to inches.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to receive oral and written instruction and relay quality issues to others.

Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary position.
  • Ability to travel by various public and private transport methods.
  • 20/20 vision required with or without correction.
  • Use of hands 100% of the workday.
  • Ability to stand or walk 25% of the workday.
  • Twisting, bending, leaning frequently during the workday.
  • Office environment, occasional exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, coolants, and oils.
