  • Conduct specimen analyses using validated testing methodologies as outlined in departmental SOPs.

  • Comply with regulatory standards including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA, ensuring safety and confidentiality.
  • Implement quality control measures, documenting all activities related to quality assurance and equipment maintenance.
  • Address any deviations from established performance criteria and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Communicate critical results to clients following departmental protocols.
  • Provide assistance and information to customers and laboratory personnel as needed.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all testing activities conducted on-site.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Verify that all reagents and test kits are properly labeled with relevant dates.
  • Participate in training on new procedures and attend regular departmental meetings.
  • Engage in safety training sessions and familiarize yourself with safety protocols and equipment.
  • Assist during inspections by regulatory agencies when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field; or an Associate's degree in Laboratory Science.
  • Foreign candidates must submit a credential evaluation from a recognized organization.
  • U.S. educated candidates must provide an original transcript.
  • Eligibility for national certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a clinical laboratory setting with high complexity testing.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory testing processes is essential.
  • Proficient computer skills and adaptability to various laboratory information systems.
  • Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance practices across laboratory disciplines.
  • Minimum one year of clinical laboratory experience for candidates with a degree in Chemistry or Biology.
  • Possession of necessary national and state licensure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple procedures effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with other departments and clients.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Experience in microbiology is a plus.
  • ASCP certification is preferred.
