Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dining Room Manager to join our team at Charter Senior Living. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dining rooms, ensuring exceptional service and ambiance for our residents and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service:
    • Creates a welcoming atmosphere and maintains high standards in the front of the house.
    • Responds to resident requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
    • Maintains a physical presence during peak business hours and at special events.
    • Develops consistent outreach strategies to keep our dining rooms top of mind for residents.
    • Engages with residents and guests, providing a personalized experience.
  • Administrative:
    • Participates in regular meetings with the management team.
    • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Hires and trains staff members, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
    • Recognizes and rewards staff for excellent performance.
    • Manages budgets and forecasts revenue and labor goals.
    • Reviews menus and participates in food and wine tastings.
    • Researches industry trends and presents new ideas to the management team.
  • Operations:
    • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings to ensure staff is prepared for service.
    • Assists with wine list development and menu planning.
    • Plans room set-ups and develops opening and closing checklists.
    • Coaches and takes corrective actions with staff and residents.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a senior living or hospitality setting.
  • Wine and beverage knowledge, with experience in wine list development and menu planning.
  • Technical experience with point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with residents and staff.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
