Summary

My After School Program is a vibrant organization dedicated to providing a supportive environment for children. We are in search of exceptional individuals to become integral members of our dynamic After School Program team. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, imaginative, reliable, and possess a proactive approach while working collaboratively with others.

Work Schedule
Hours of employment are Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Compensation ranges from $15 to $28 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, the Teacher will design, organize, and schedule activities while overseeing children in the afterschool program for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. The Teacher is expected to maintain a professional rapport with school administration, parents, students, team members, and school staff. The role emphasizes teamwork to ensure the best outcomes for the children and the program.

  • Develop, prepare, and execute age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Assist children with homework and assignments, including reading, writing, and math.
  • Prepare educational materials and supplies necessary for activities.
  • Supervise daily lesson plans and activities aimed at enhancing children's social and motor skills.
  • Engage with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation.
  • Communicate with parents regarding children's performance through regular reports.
  • Foster a safe and organized learning environment.
  • Ensure students adhere to program guidelines and maintain discipline.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for students in the afterschool program.
  • Encourage high standards for academic success and behavior.
  • Teach skills that promote academic improvement and support social and emotional development.
  • Serve as a role model for students, demonstrating encouragement and fair play.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop enrichment activity plans.
  • Address parent and student concerns with the Director.
  • Manage student interactions and resolve conflicts as needed.
  • Develop individualized plans for students with special needs.
  • Enforce safety protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate effectively with parents, teachers, students, and staff.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and flexibility as a team member.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with school-age children.
  • Experience in planning age-appropriate activities.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to create a fun and safe learning environment.
  • Solid understanding of child behavior and learning styles.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean learning space.
  • Passion for supporting children's educational needs.
  • Accountability and reliability in all responsibilities.
  • Ability to teach students across various age groups according to their understanding and proficiency levels.
