Position Overview

Camp Wieuca, an outreach of Wieuca Road Baptist Church, is dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging Christian atmosphere for children. Our mission is to exemplify Christ-like values through meaningful interactions and enjoyable experiences.

We are seeking enthusiastic Afterschool Program Educators for the upcoming school year. This role will report directly to the Camp Director and is ideally suited for college students seeking a fulfilling after-school position.

Work Schedule: Typical hours are from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Applicants may choose to work all five days or select specific days based on their academic commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement engaging activities for campers; actively supervise and participate in these activities.
  • Deliver prepared Bible lessons with enthusiasm and passion.
  • Assist children in completing their homework assignments.
  • Provide a structured and secure environment for campers, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
  • Exhibit strong group management skills and apply age-appropriate discipline techniques.
  • Possess a repertoire of game ideas and maintain an energetic approach to the role.
  • Demonstrate independence with minimal supervision from senior staff.
  • Exhibit maturity, adaptability, diplomacy, and compassion.
  • Maintain composure and a calm demeanor, even in challenging situations.
  • Show willingness to learn and follow guidance from senior staff.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean and organized on a daily basis.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • As a faith-based organization, we encourage candidates to have a developing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Previous experience in childcare is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maturity, along with effective problem-solving skills in a nurturing manner.
  • Team-oriented individual capable of fostering a collaborative spirit among camp staff.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and knowledge of first aid is advantageous.
  • Physical capability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds, sit for extended periods, and engage actively with children.
