Job Summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Afterschool Site Director to lead our elementary age children's program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing activities that promote academic success and social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Create a safe and engaging environment that fosters learning and growth for our students.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and support a team of staff members to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Conduct daily assessments to ensure compliance with YMCA and Bright from the Start regulations, and maintain accurate records of attendance and program participation.
  • Training and Professional Development: Attend scheduled training sessions and maintain annual training hours to stay up-to-date on best practices in education and youth development.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Consult with the Program Director on student development and behavior, and provide input on program planning and development.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must possess a minimum credential that meets BFTS Site Directors requirements, and have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with Microsoft Office software, and ability to pass a fingerprint check through Bright from the Start.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to bend, stoop, stand, sit, lift up to thirty pounds, see, hear, and perform keyboard input.
Employment Requirements
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including a criminal record check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
  • Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
