Job Title: Senior Fluid Systems Valve Design Engineer

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Senior Fluid Systems Valve Design Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of valves for our New Glenn rocket.

About the Role:

This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of fluid systems, mechanical design, and valve engineering. You'll work closely with our team of engineers to design, analyze, and develop valves that meet the stringent requirements of our launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop valves for use on the New Glenn rocket
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate valves into the overall system
  • Perform analysis and testing to ensure valve performance and reliability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to procure components and materials
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in fluid systems design and development
  • Experience with valve design and engineering
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD programs and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience designing systems with Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Methane in liquid and/or gaseous states
  • Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications and thermal analysis
