Senior Propulsion Engineer

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Engineer to join our Engines business unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing engine fluid control systems and mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop valve components, assemblies, and tools
- Mentor and lead early career engineers in fluid control systems development
- Collaborate with program leaders, systems engineers, and test groups to select architectures and solutions for engine fluid control systems
- Oversee testing of components and ensure compliance with design requirements and design goals
- Help define and refine best practices for engine valves and mechanisms to increase design efficiency and processes
- Work with vendors to define requirements and manage supplier developments for common valves and feedback devices
- B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical, or physics desired)
- 8+ years of professional engineering experience with valves, fluid control systems, and mechanisms, including rocket or jet engine experience
- Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis
- Strong knowledge of hardware design processes and hardware fabrication techniques related to valves
- Computer-aided design (CAD) experience
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with data analysis and data processing
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Advanced degree in engineering discipline
- Experience designing products for cryogenic fluids and high-pressure systems
- Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, and Windchill 10

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
