Position Overview
The Hoya Fellow will report directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, receiving additional guidance from the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Student Health.
This role includes supervising the Administrative Assistant within the Division of Student Affairs, along with overseeing both graduate and undergraduate student personnel.
In addition to a dedicated year-long placement within a specific department of the Division of Student Affairs, the Hoya Fellow will have the chance to engage with key university administrators and faculty, gain insights into various administrative functions, and participate in leadership luncheons and enrichment activities with influential figures in the Georgetown University and higher education sectors.
Hoya Fellows are appointed for a full-time, one-year term within the Division of Student Affairs, working under the mentorship of a senior administrator. The roles are concentrated on either student engagement or student resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, planning, and executing programs
- Facilitating student outreach and engagement initiatives
- Developing and implementing social media and communication strategies
- Providing administrative and organizational support
- Conducting data collection, analysis, and assessment
- Collaborating on university events with various departments
- Implementing health and wellness programming and education initiatives
A Bachelor's degree is mandatory for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University is highly regarded.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the undergraduate student culture and community at Georgetown University to effectively devise targeted engagement strategies.
Work DesignationThis position is classified as On-Campus. Please be aware that work mode classifications are subject to regular reviews to adapt to the evolving needs of the University. Such evaluations may lead to adjustments in the work designation of the position.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $31.30 per hour.
Compensation is influenced by various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's operational requirements and external considerations.
