Manager of Medical Staff Operations

Full-time, Exempt position

At the forefront of healthcare excellence, the Manager of Medical Staff Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive activities related to the medical staff. This position is integral to ensuring that all operational elements of the department are executed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Medical Officer, the Manager is responsible for:
  • Administering all internal and external functions of the Medical Staff.
  • Organizing and facilitating programs that enhance medical staff operations.
  • Establishing and maintaining procedures that govern medical staff activities.
  • Ensuring adherence to Federal, State, and other licensing regulations.
  • Coordinating meeting agendas, documenting minutes, and ensuring follow-up actions are taken.
  • Acting as a liaison between hospital administration and the medical staff.
  • Supervising Medical Staff personnel to foster a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Requirements for the Manager of Medical Staff Operations:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Staff Services within an Acute Care Setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role within an Acute Care environment.
  • Preferred experience in California healthcare settings.
  • A college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Educational background in Medical Staff Services or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards, along with critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Certification as a Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) is desirable.
  • Certification as a Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is preferred.
