Job Overview

Position Summary:

Develop innovative products and enhance existing solutions. Explore advanced technologies and methodologies to improve product reliability, introduce new features, and minimize ongoing engineering efforts. Engage in establishing new processes to boost productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and validate electronic systems and firmware for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate in defining technical product specifications based on market needs.
  • Contribute to project planning, including timelines and task estimations for electronics and firmware development, ensuring milestones are achieved.
  • Utilize SCRAM Systems' Product Development Process alongside industry-standard methodologies and design tools. This encompasses producing and maintaining analyses, Product Requirements Documents, architecture designs, detailed schematics, circuit simulations, and comprehensive testing protocols. Participate in design reviews throughout the development cycle and contribute to the enhancement of engineering practices.
  • As a key contributor, achieve project goals through innovation and sound engineering principles. Develop new products and enhancements, seeking advanced technologies to improve performance and reduce costs. When necessary, dedicate additional hours to maintain project timelines.
  • Employ Rapid Prototyping techniques to create product mock-ups for validation by marketing and sales teams.
  • Support marketing efforts by providing technical assessments and developing cost estimates for new product initiatives.
  • Assist engineering teams in supporting sales, customer service, and marketing functions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement design modifications that enhance manufacturability and reduce production costs, while also participating in failure analysis to identify root causes of issues.
  • Maintain familiarity with domestic and international regulatory standards, including FCC, UL, CE, and others, supporting compliance testing and certification processes.
  • Continuously enhance professional skills through training, workshops, and relevant coursework.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in embedded Linux environments, including kernel development and debugging.
  • Experience in custom device driver development and device tree kernel configuration.
  • Knowledge of secure boot processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with real-time operating systems.
  • Proficiency in C and assembly language programming.
  • Experience in developing products with cellular technologies, GPS, Wi-Fi, and related components.
  • Strong background in designing both analog and digital circuits.
  • Understanding of RF and cellular standards, with experience in product certification.
  • Successful track record in transitioning products to production and providing ongoing support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with various development tools and testing equipment.
  • Experience with ARM microcontrollers and KEIL development environments.
  • Knowledge of low-power design principles.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 certified environments.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in firmware development.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Frequent fine motor movements.
