Role Overview

As a Senior Engineering Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our collaborative research initiatives. You will have the opportunity to explore your interests and leverage your expertise to deliver impactful solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, design, and implement advanced audio and electrical technologies aimed at improving communication and hearing protection systems.
  • Innovate sensing technologies that meet emerging needs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to fellow engineers and scientists within the organization.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with a preference for acoustics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Position Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance.
  • Willingness to work on-site at our facility.
  • Occasional travel may be required for collaboration with other offices and clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Extensive experience in at least two of the following areas: acoustical engineering, amplifier design, embedded programming, PCB design and fabrication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of acoustics and human sound perception.
  • Experience in defining system requirements for audio and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and troubleshooting hardware.
  • Ability to integrate acoustic transducers into existing systems.
  • Experience in developing and fine-tuning audio algorithms.
  • Capability to create test methods for new technologies.
  • Experience in microelectronics, including component selection and system development.
  • Familiarity with low-rate initial production processes.
  • Experience with Altium for PCB design.
  • Background in contract or grant-based research relevant to national defense.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated through reports and presentations.
