Role and Responsibilities
- Identify, design, and implement advanced audio and electrical technologies aimed at improving communication and hearing protection systems.
- Innovate sensing solutions that meet emerging needs.
- Serve as a technical expert and resource for fellow engineers and scientists within the organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, ideally in acoustics.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Position Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Ability to secure a DoD Security Clearance.
- Willingness to work on-site.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.
- Extensive experience in at least two of the following areas: acoustical engineering, amplifier design, embedded programming, PCB design/fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of acoustics and human sound perception.
- Experience in defining audio and electrical system specifications.
- Proficiency in evaluating and troubleshooting hardware.
- Ability to integrate acoustic transducers into existing systems.
- Expertise in developing and fine-tuning audio algorithms.
- Experience in creating testing methodologies for new technologies.
- Background in microelectronics, including component selection and embedded system programming.
- Experience with prototyping and low-rate initial production processes.
- Familiarity with Altium for PCB design.
- Experience in contract or grant-based R&D related to National Defense.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrated through reports and publications.
