Role Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Integration Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Space Development Agency's initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing intricate mechanical interfaces for missile tracking and defense systems.
  • Leading mechanical design evaluations and hardware validation processes.
  • Defining mechanical architecture and developing interface control documentation.
  • Utilizing tools such as DOORS and CREO for system-level engineering and subassembly design.
  • Managing hardware design and development within specified budget and timeline constraints.
  • Exhibiting a strong work ethic and a broad understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Applying standardized processes effectively to real-world engineering challenges.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering functions, including:
    • Conducting system trade studies and developing operational concepts.
    • Creating requirements and interface documentation.
    • Engaging in system integration and testing activities.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Skills

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Over 5 years of experience in spacecraft or ground system architecture design and integration.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Experience in developing operational documentation and familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
