As a key member of our development team, you will engage in comprehensive information security engineering tasks, focusing on the entire lifecycle of existing systems and the identification of future requirements. Your responsibilities will include gathering and processing essential information security requirements, ensuring their effective integration into information systems through strategic security architecture, design, development, and configuration.

This role is crucial in the design and enhancement of organizational information systems or the modernization of legacy systems. You will implement best practices for security requirements within information systems, utilizing software engineering methodologies, security engineering principles, secure design, and coding techniques. Your primary focus will be on Special Access Programs (SAPs) in support of Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, providing essential daily support for various security activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the formulation, execution, and assessment of information system security program policies, emphasizing the integration of existing SAP network infrastructures.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of network security in alignment with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), with a focus on the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG) authorization process.
  • Deliver expert support and analysis for complex security challenges and processes.
  • Provide high-level consultation and technical services across all aspects of Information Security.
  • Act as a technical authority for the Cybersecurity Assessment Program, offering guidance and solutions for intricate issues.
  • Demonstrate independent thinking and exceptional communication skills, applying advanced technical principles and concepts.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative principles, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Tackle complex technical problems, delivering creative and effective solutions.
  • Lead a team of System Security Engineers and Certification and Accreditation Analysts to ensure the protection of national and international security interests.
  • Recommend cybersecurity software tools and assist in defining software tool requirements and selection criteria.
  • Review security designs and provide compliance recommendations.
  • Guide technical teams in achieving long-term objectives.
  • Engage with customer and SAP community Information Assurance (IA) working groups and participate in security reviews.
  • Develop and present IA risk management recommendations.
  • Support the design and development of Mission and Training systems.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of the Program Protection Plan.
  • Participate in design reviews and site activation activities.
  • Represent the organization in various ISSE-related working groups and advisory councils.
  • Chair or co-chair IA working groups and participate in ISSE Integrated Product Team (IPT) reviews.
  • Possess a strong background in Patch/Configuration management, DevOps, and tier 3 support.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of JSIG/RMF Continuous Monitoring tools and processes.
  • Integrate commercial and government products to enhance automated system security functions.
  • Conduct security assessments of servers, network devices, and security appliances.
  • Enhance security assessment processes for improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Integrate monitoring tools with enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Develop and execute cybersecurity test procedures for compliance validation.
  • Monitor and analyze cybersecurity tool outputs for incidents and residual risks.
  • Evaluate the technical risks associated with emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
  • Collaborate as part of a security incident response team as necessary.
  • Create operational checklists for service maintenance and develop associated processes.
  • Innovate techniques to enhance Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability across various network classifications.
  • Exhibit advanced technical skills in platforms such as Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Utilize various cybersecurity tools and concepts, including mandatory access control and database security.

Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of DoD, National, and applicable agency security policies and standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with military, civilian personnel, and industry partners.

Required Experience:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Previous roles such as ISSO, ISSM, SCA, or SAP IT Technical Director.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4 years).

Certifications:

  • IAAE Level I or IAAE Level II.

Security Clearance:

  • TS/SCI with willingness to undergo a CI polygraph.
  • Eligibility for access to SAP Information.
