About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Officer to join our team at Greenleaf Trust. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth and expanding our presence in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned geographic areas, building relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to facilitate growth and expansion.
  • Community Engagement: Represent Greenleaf Trust at community events, conferences, and networking functions to promote our brand and establish thought leadership in the industry.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain a network of attorneys, accountants, and other advisors to facilitate referrals and drive business growth.
  • Client Support: Provide exceptional support to new clients throughout the account transfer process, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining availability to answer questions or provide information during and after the process.
  • Sales Team Collaboration: Actively participate in sales team meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies and tactics.
  • Event Planning: Assist in planning, executing, and post-event follow-up for event-driven marketing activities, including seminars and conferences.
  • Community Representation: Represent Greenleaf Trust in the community through local Board of Director representation and other community engagement initiatives.
Supporting Our Team
  • Operations Support: Work effectively and supportively with Operations Division team members to ensure the smooth opening of new account relationships.
  • Client Centric Support: Work closely with Client Centric Team (CCT) members to support client needs and ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Assist with seminar content development in areas of expertise and share knowledge with colleagues to drive business growth and expansion.
  • Communication Tracking: Ensure thorough tracking of prospect, COI, and client communications in CRM systems.
Continuing Education
  • Industry Knowledge: Participate in continuing education opportunities in wealth management, estate planning, tax, and retirement areas to remain current with new developments in the industry.
Committees and Other Responsibilities
  • Workgroup Participation: Actively participate in assigned workgroup(s) for various projects and contribute to the development of business strategies and tactics.

Security Responsibilities: Employees are required to comply with all information and physical security policies and procedures, and participate in recurring training on these policies throughout their period of employment.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years' experience selling financial services or related intangible products or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Desirable Qualifications: JD, CFP, and/or CTFA beneficial, but not necessary.
