Job Title: Program Specialist VI

Job Summary:

This is a senior-level position that requires sophisticated data analysis and scientific writing skills. As a Program Specialist VI, you will work under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prioritize, and perform a variety of scientific writing and data-related technical, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities for assigned programs.
  • Provide high-level technical assistance for the Healthcare Safety Unity of the Office of the Chief State Epidemiologist.
  • Coordinate the collection, organization, analysis, and preparation of materials in response to requests for program information and reports.
  • Complete and monitor required administrative and performance reports, studies, and specialized projects.
  • Recommend appropriate changes to programs.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, statutes, and rules.
  • Provide high-level advice and counsel by interpreting policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and standards related to the program.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of sophisticated scientific/professional/grant writing and data analysis management techniques.
  • Statistical analysis processes.
  • Research techniques.
  • Program management processes and techniques.
  • Expert, independent skill performing data analyses using Statistical Software.
  • Expert, independent skill reviewing and writing scientific and legal documents for public-facing state and national health audiences.
