Head of Adult Education Initiatives

GeorgiaGov is in search of a Director of Adult Learning Programs. This full-time, exempt role is accountable for overseeing the Adult Education initiatives and will report directly to the Vice President of Economic Development. With minimal supervision, the individual will establish adult education programs tailored for local individuals and businesses across various locations.
The Director will be responsible for planning and organizing the department's operations to align with the strategic objectives of the organization. This includes administering educational services for Adult Education participants, promoting the program to both public and private entities within the designated service area, which encompasses multiple counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and supervise adult education initiatives
- Prepare and submit grant proposals
- Manage and oversee the financial operations and budget of the department
- Monitor staff activities to ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures
- Assist in the formulation of policies and procedures, recommending adjustments to meet program goals
- Stay informed about assigned program areas and provide management with updates on services and projects
- Conduct employee evaluations at regular intervals based on comprehensive reviews
- Regularly assess the services provided and implement necessary adjustments
- Supervise the creation and execution of instructional services, including student intake, assessment, and educational planning
- Advocate for the adult education program to various organizations
- Organize and facilitate advisory committees
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or a closely related field
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education or a related discipline
- Exceptional communication skills, marketing expertise, program planning experience, and strong management capabilities
- Experience with adult learning methodologies and the provision of educational services to adult learners
- Prior supervisory experience and/or a background in financial management, including budget development and oversight

Salary and Benefits:
The salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, along with the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
