Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team at STATE DEPARTMENT FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of HR-related duties, including recruitment, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, salary administration, and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings
  • Lead efforts for college recruitment and internship programs
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and offboarding
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors
  • Participate in employee corrective action, disciplinary meetings, and terminations
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of Human Resources-related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Knowledge of employment laws and other government compliance regulations
  • Strong background in recruitment, personnel administration, employment, compensation, and benefits
  • Proficiency using an HRIS or applicant tracking software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and consistently demonstrate a professional demeanor
