Job Summary:

The State of Oregon is seeking an Office Specialist 2, Receptionist, Administration to join our team. As a key member of our administration building, you will be the first point of contact for guests and staff, providing a warm and welcoming experience. Your administrative duties will include providing support to the Superintendent's office and other sections of the institution as assigned.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for managing calendars and scheduling appointments, using a multi-line telephone system, and navigating and running reports or utilizing dashboards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and Adobe Pro, is essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required, as well as attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a male correctional facility, with regular contact with adults in custody. The office environment is computer-based, with extended use of computer terminals and physical paperwork.

About the Department:

The Oregon Department of Corrections is responsible for over 12,000 adults in custody in 12 state prisons throughout Oregon. Our mission is to promote public safety by holding offenders accountable for their actions and reducing the risk of future criminal behavior. Requirements:

The successful candidate must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position. However, having a felony record does not exclusively restrict you from being considered as an applicant. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.
