Software Technical Program Manager, Mixed Reality Operating System Release

Our mission encompasses developing software for all realities—be it Augmented, Virtual, or Mixed—for billions of users worldwide. As our team grows, we are seeking a skilled Software Technical Program Manager for Mixed Reality Operating System Release to oversee our MR OS software launches.
In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with the planning, coordination, and execution of software operating system releases for our Quest product line. Your expertise will be essential in orchestrating and driving these OS releases, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases for our innovative products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish release plans and timelines.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among development, quality assurance, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure successful software launches.
- Monitor release progress, identifying risks and issues, and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and uphold release processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Enhance visibility, accountability, and execution across software development areas within the organization.
- Resolve conflicts, clarify priorities, and drive progress in execution.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in release management.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in the release process through technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software release management, systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, or technical product/program management.
- Demonstrated success in managing software releases for complex products or platforms at scale.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing cross-functional programs in a matrix organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with release management tools and systems.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience in leading complex projects across multiple teams in different time zones, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with large-scale systems.
- Ability to translate high-level objectives into actionable plans and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AOSP is preferred but not mandatory.
