Position Overview
The Director of Transportation Services is accountable for the comprehensive management, coordination, safety, and assessment of the Transportation division.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, interview, recruit, and train Transportation personnel;
- Plan, allocate, and oversee work assignments; evaluate performance; recognize and address employee achievements and issues;
- Develop and manage departmental budget, objectives, and policies;
- Acquire vehicles necessary for departmental operations;
- Ensure timely maintenance and servicing of all vehicles;
- Oversee billing and contract management;
- Conduct research to identify funding opportunities for transportation initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals; review grant criteria, prepare, write, and submit grant applications;
- Monitor and manage all grant-related activities, including budgets, revenues, and expenditures;
- Prepare and submit reports to meet grant obligations;
- Facilitate departmental meetings;
- Participate in required training sessions and community meetings;
- Respond to emergencies such as accidents, rider health issues, or vehicle malfunctions as necessary;
- Assist in preparing interoffice and external reports.

Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Capability to load and unload wheelchairs.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to operate a passenger bus consistently.

Education and Experience
- Must hold a valid Public Passenger's Chauffeur's license with an acceptable driving record.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
