The Director of Transportation Services is accountable for the comprehensive management, coordination, safety, and assessment of the Transportation division.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, interview, recruit, and train Transportation personnel;
- Organize, allocate, and oversee work assignments; evaluate performance; recognize and address employee achievements and issues;
- Develop and manage departmental budget, objectives, and policies;
- Procure vehicles for departmental use;
- Ensure timely maintenance of all vehicles;
- Oversee billing and contract management;
- Conduct research to secure funding for transportation initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals; review grant criteria, develop, write, and submit proposals;
- Monitor and track all grant activities, budgets, revenues, and expenditures;
- Prepare and submit reports to meet grant obligations;
- Facilitate departmental meetings;
- Participate in required in-services and community meetings or training sessions;
- Respond to emergencies such as accidents, rider health issues, or vehicle malfunctions as necessary;
- Assist in preparing interoffice and external reports.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Capability to load and unload wheelchairs.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Education and Experience
- Valid Public Passenger's Chauffeur's license with an acceptable driving record.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience.
