In this position, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and evaluation of essential hardware components for Kodiak's autonomous vehicles. We seek a candidate who is both practically engaged with our products and possesses the expertise to support a variety of technical initiatives. The ideal individual is enthusiastic about collaborating with a diverse and committed team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct high-quality harnesses, cables, and enclosures according to engineering specifications.
  • Conduct testing and maintain test documentation following engineering guidelines.
  • Execute soldering, mechanical assembly, harness routing, and subsystem construction.
  • Oversee bill of materials (BOMs) and laboratory inventory management.
  • Assist in updating the harness library.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, probes, and thermal cameras.
  • Set up and manage prototype testing configurations based on wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness drawings.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace throughout the assembly and testing processes.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a research and development or engineering lab environment, closely collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in prototype assembly, testing, and operating testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and construct harnesses from technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with soldering tools, multimeters, and crimping devices; experience with oscilloscopes is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in team or project settings.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and proactive problem-solving.
  • Capability to make timely decisions amidst complexity, balancing thorough analysis with decisive action.
