Job Overview
The Role

The mission of the ECU hardware design team is to ensure that our products are crafted to meet the evolving demands of our customers while delivering robust and well-engineered hardware that adheres to GM specifications and testing standards from initial hardware development through to production.

In this position, you will take charge of product development and integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and mentor a team of electrical hardware designers, providing technical guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring high levels of productivity and efficiency.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing personnel, to guarantee the seamless integration of electrical hardware designs into the complete product.

Lead the design of embedded systems for advanced module architectures.
Direct the design and development of new integrated circuits critical to advanced in-vehicle architectures.
Manage electrical schematic design and PCB layout.
Evaluate the feasibility of proposed electrical hardware designs, taking into account cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Support next-generation designs in digital and analog hardware, including high-speed Ethernet, processors, and memory.
Conduct and review electrical worst-case analysis.
Act as the design expert representing the GM hardware team in core technologies developed within the team.
Optimize five-point parametric tests and finalize end-of-line production tests.
Lead the process as a build-to-print engineer, serving as a liaison with contract manufacturers.
Implement cost-effective solutions that enhance performance design.
Drive product development as part of a multi-hub engineering organization.
Refine and optimize requirements in collaboration with the MPG team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Professional experience in creating digital and analog hardware interfaces, including schematic creation and PCB layout with supporting documentation.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive hardware electronics design.
Proficiency in design and analysis tools such as Mentor Graphics (schematic and layout), MathCad, PSpice, and Saber.
Experience with high-speed communication buses (Ethernet, PCIe, SerDes, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in the infotainment, telematics, or connectivity sectors.
This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring in-office presence three times per week at a minimum.
Relocation benefits may be available for this position.
A company vehicle will be provided upon successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.
The compensation range for this role is between $137,000 and $214,300 annually, based on relevant factors.
