Team Overview
Our hardware division is expanding, and we are seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to spearhead initiatives that align with our mission of improving everyday life through robotics.

Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will guide a skilled, cross-disciplinary team through comprehensive product lifecycles and various engagement models, from in-house design to collaborations with external partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the specification, development, validation, and implementation of cutting-edge AI hardware integral to Nuro's autonomous driving framework.
  • Designing high-performance onboard computing, networking, and vehicle interface systems in conjunction with sensor and vehicle hardware teams.
  • Collaborating with design and manufacturing partners to communicate initial design requirements and provide updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conducting technology assessments (CPU, GPU, ML accelerators, and other ASICs) to guide future development directions.
  • Advising on strategic partnerships with suppliers in the high-performance computing sector.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and interns.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven expertise in High-Performance Computing architecture, electrical design, and deployment.
  • Demonstrated skills in PCB design (schematic/layout), prototyping, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with leading EDA tools.
  • Expertise in high-speed and complex electrical engineering design.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other diagnostic tools.
  • A growth mindset, ready to tackle new challenges with innovative solutions.
  • A passion for working in a dynamic startup environment, driving projects from concept to mass production.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively lead a cross-functional team.
  • The ability to advance a program from any level, from system architecture to electrical debugging.
  • The capability to develop designs that address unique applications with a variety of potential solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience in System Architecture.
  • Familiarity with Nvidia Drive platforms.
  • Proficiency in Altium design tools and Ansys simulation software.
  • Experience with offshore JDM development.
  • Knowledge of Verilog, C/C++, and Python.

Compensation
At Nuro, your base salary is just one component of your overall compensation package. The expected salary range for this position is between $183,825 and $275,975 per year, depending on various factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
