As a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role within our Avionics Hardware Engineering team. Your contributions will integrate mechanical, electrical, guidance, navigation, control (GNC), and safety specifications to create sophisticated components essential for our aviation automation initiatives. You will collaborate with diverse teams to establish a comprehensive system architecture and ensure the incorporation of requirements throughout the hardware and software layers.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Define the architecture of Avionics systems and conduct trade studies concerning performance, complexity, risk, and effort.
  • Oversee the design, testing, and integration of avionics hardware, including computing, sensing, actuation, communication, power, and display systems.
  • Work collaboratively across engineering disciplines to implement an electrical system design that adheres to system-level and certification standards.
  • Take ownership of various components (such as IMUs, air data computers, and batteries) and ensure their proper installation, verification, and certification within the aircraft.

Essential Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical system development, integration, and testing.
  • Strong teamwork abilities, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and resolving technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in developing system architectures and managing requirements across multiple interfaces.
  • Familiarity with integrating and troubleshooting various electronic sensors and components.
  • A creative problem solver capable of synthesizing multiple disciplines and assessing risks to make informed design decisions.
  • Experience in designing and constructing aerospace wiring harnesses, including proficiency with ECAD tools such as E3, VeSys, or IGE+XAO.
  • A proven history of successfully delivering products and completing projects.
