Marine Risk Assessor

Position Overview:
As a Marine Risk Assessor, you will be instrumental in delivering underwriting expertise and exceptional service to our clients. Your role will involve leveraging digital insurance platforms and collaborating with channel partners while managing a portfolio of business for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists' Ocean and Inland Marine products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source submissions from designated trading partners using effective marketing and sales strategies.
- Expand the broker-driven business for individual shipments and shipper clients.
- Review and approve High Value Shipment referrals within your assigned territory.
- Conduct thorough desk underwriting to assess exposures and provide quotes within your authority, utilizing pricing tools.
- Ensure precise and timely data entry in the underwriting portal.
- Maintain your portfolio by delivering timely renewals to brokers and clients.
- Collaborate with claims, finance, compliance, and engineering teams on matters affecting your accounts.
- Support team standards by assisting colleagues in achieving service and quality targets.
- Provide weekly updates to the executive team on production, referrals, and booked premiums.
- Complete required continuing education training as assigned.
- Deliver professional service to brokers through various communication channels.
- Attend client meetings as necessary.

- Monitor project timelines and budgets, communicating potential changes as needed.
- Prepare materials for client presentations and respond to policy inquiries promptly.
- Generate policy quotes for immediate and short-term coverage needs.
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings for requirements gathering and process design.
- Attention to detail and precision in documentation and reporting.
- Adaptability to work in an unstructured environment with minimal guidance.
- Familiarity with corporate systems such as CRM.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ocean and inland marine underwriting.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication skills and comfort in engaging with senior representatives.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
