Position Overview:
As a Geotechnical Marine Specialist, you will be instrumental in the collection and analysis of geological and geotechnical data in marine settings. This role provides a unique chance to engage in hands-on geotechnical investigations, soil and sediment assessments, and the application of geotechnical principles in coastal engineering projects. You will work closely with experienced team members to contribute to various geotechnical surveys, data interpretation, and report preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in executing geotechnical investigations in marine environments, including field surveys and seabed sampling.
2. Support the collection of geotechnical data, which involves gathering soil and sediment samples and participating in laboratory testing and analysis.
3. Engage in the interpretation of geological and geotechnical data to assess seabed composition, sediment characteristics, and geological risks.
4. Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs of equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
5. Collaborate with senior team members to integrate geotechnical findings into relevant datasets.
6. Contribute to the planning and execution of geotechnical surveys, including the design of sampling methodologies and survey strategies.
7. Assist in the preparation of detailed geotechnical reports and presentations, summarizing essential findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Familiarity with geotechnical principles, including soil mechanics, sedimentology, and geological hazards.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and enhance skills in geotechnical research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
- Commitment to safety protocols and ethical research practices in marine geotechnical investigations.
