Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee new and renewal premiums within the designated region for assigned producers and/or accounts.

• Underwrite and price accounts in alignment with Starr Marine's underwriting standards and personal authority levels.

• Serve as the primary contact for multiple producers and/or accounts, ensuring effective relationship management.

• Monitor key performance indicators such as production metrics, hit ratios, renewal retention ratios, and risk distribution.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all Starr Marine products and collaborate with the Regional Manager to uncover new production opportunities.

• Provide both informal and formal underwriting training as necessary.

• Mentor junior underwriting staff on market dynamics, competitive landscape, and relationship management techniques.

• Ensure compliance with documentation standards, underwriting guidelines, and pass all internal and external audits.

• Conduct regular self-reviews of underwriting practices.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Starr Marine's forms and endorsements, including specialized manuscript forms for complex accounts.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 3-7 years of experience in ocean marine underwriting, showcasing productivity and profitability with a disciplined underwriting approach.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience is preferred.
