Job Overview

The Masterson Company, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Associate to oversee and manage vendor and ingredient data within our quality management system. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Quality standards, as well as adhering to all regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, assess, and input all vendor documentation into the quality management system, including Vendor Risk Assessments, Specifications, Nutritional information, third-party audits, Food Safety Plans, and Allergen documentation.
  • Maintain and update vendor risk ratings as new information and industry standards emerge.
  • Lead the development, execution, and ongoing management of the Ingredient/Food Contact Packaging Vendor Program, ensuring that outdated information is removed and documentation is current.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing department to establish and maintain a vendor complaint log, address vendor quality concerns, and compile relevant statistics as necessary.
  • Assist Purchasing in evaluating and rating vendors, providing detailed reports on findings.
  • Support Purchasing in managing aged ingredients and their disposition.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including safety, food safety, and standardized operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in supply chain management or food science, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance role is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and/or Vendor Risk Assessment programs is advantageous, with familiarity in Vicinity and SafeFood360 software being preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff and suppliers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adept at multitasking to manage documentation from various vendors and requests daily.
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
