Salary Range: $125,000-$160,000

Overview: Bernard Nickels & Associates is a leader in providing innovative solutions for utility, industrial, and commercial sectors, focusing on safe and sustainable technologies for electricity distribution. We are currently seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute Project Quality Plans for designated assignments, conducting Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical inspections of eHouses at vendor facilities.
  • Detect quality discrepancies or non-conformance issues, initiate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) to vendors, and guide the resolution of outstanding quality concerns on projects.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests at manufacturing sites, ensuring product compliance with specifications and approved design documentation.
  • Facilitate Integrated Factory Acceptance Tests with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders at eHouse vendors, leading the resolution of any outstanding issues prior to shipment.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality protocols throughout the project lifecycle, confirming all checklists are completed before the release of eHouses.
  • Develop a comprehensive Safety plan for projects, ensuring compliance with Safety and EHS processes by company representatives, vendors, and customers. Lead the documentation, investigation, and resolution of any safety-related incidents during project execution.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with vendors to ensure compliance with the company's Quality standards.
  • Visit customer job sites to address any quality claims and collaborate with project teams and suppliers to devise timely action plans.
  • Implement proactive measures based on lessons learned to mitigate the recurrence of potential issues affecting project execution.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement in project execution or product design and communicate these insights to the engineering team.
  • Support the organization in maintaining ISO certification through rigorous adherence to established Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Conduct new supplier qualification audits and routine audits of existing suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field).
  • A minimum of 3 years of field experience in the Electrical Distribution sector.
  • At least 5 years of additional experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Field Services.
  • Experience with E-House, including Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and other project management tools.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with individuals at all organizational levels and external contacts.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High energy level, self-motivated, and driven.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and a sense of urgency in task management.
  • Customer-centric mindset, capable of addressing complex customer needs and achieving project goals and satisfaction.
