POSITION OBJECTIVE:


This role is pivotal in meeting sales, gross margin, and profit objectives for a designated Omni-channel business. This is achieved through strategic selection, pricing, and promotion of merchandise, alongside effective merchandising and management techniques aimed at optimizing the company's inventory investment and retail space.

The position involves developing and executing a customer-focused strategy, coupled with pre-season and in-season analysis to adapt to sales trends and enhance business performance.


FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and oversees the quarterly strategic view of the product line, emphasizing the creation of a strong assortment architecture that aligns with business strategies.
  • Conducts market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities relevant to the core customer, leading to actionable business strategies.
  • Acts as the customer advocate, possessing in-depth knowledge of the target audience to ensure product offerings deliver exceptional service.
  • Fosters collaboration among cross-functional teams, including Planning, Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising.
  • Collaborates with Sourcing and Product Development to establish target retail prices that align with financial objectives and communicate these to stakeholders.
  • Works closely with Design and Product Development teams to ensure the fit and quality of merchandise meet standards.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders to optimize product distribution and maximize sales potential.
  • Determines order quantities by style, size, and color, validating against KPI objectives and inventory plans.
  • Regularly assesses sales trends and makes informed merchandising decisions in collaboration with leadership to enhance results and mitigate risks.
  • Partners with the Sourcing team to manage delivery schedules, ensuring commitments are fulfilled promptly.
  • Collaborates with Marketing to understand the visual placement of products and its impact on sales, working with Visual teams on key initiatives.
  • Ensures continuous coordination with Digital Commerce and International teams regarding final product assortments and necessary updates.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with Site Merchandising partners on final assortments.
  • Engages with Store Operations to develop training and communication strategies that enhance workflow.
  • Values the unique talents of team members, leading by setting clear expectations, providing guidance, delivering constructive feedback, and empowering the team to excel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Intimate Apparel is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Over 6 years of experience in Brand Development and Merchandising within a national multi-channel apparel retail environment.
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage the open-to-buy process effectively.
  • Strong numerical interpretation skills and comprehensive knowledge of inventory management.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and lead cross-functional teams.
