POSITION SUMMARY:

The Merchandising Associate plays a vital role in collaboration with leadership to drive sales, gross margin, and profitability within a designated Omni-channel category or department. This is achieved through strategic selection, pricing, and promotion of products, while employing effective merchandising and management practices to optimize the company's inventory investment and retail space.

This role supports the merchandising team with various daily responsibilities, including order management, business analytics, presentations, and vendor interactions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducts market research and identifies trends and opportunities relevant to the target customer base.

Collaborates with leadership to determine order quantities by style, size, and color, ensuring alignment with the Line Plan and Open-to-Buy (OTB) plan.

Works closely with Planning & Allocation teams to ensure optimal distribution for maximizing sales.

Builds relationships with customers to ensure that merchandise aligns with their purchasing preferences.

Takes ownership of all aspects of merchandise, sales, inventory, and margin in partnership with leadership.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop, assort, and plan the product line for assigned categories.

Acts as a resource for sample management.

Fosters strong partnerships across various departments, including Planning, Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising.

Develops and implements seasonal merchandise strategies and pricing in collaboration with leadership.

Reviews sales plans and makes informed merchandising decisions in conjunction with leadership.

Partners with the Sourcing team to manage the flow and timing of product deliveries.

Coordinates with the Planning team to ensure adequate buy depth based on sales forecasts.

Communicates effectively with Product Management and Design regarding the performance of best and worst-selling items.

Ensures continuous alignment with Digital Commerce Merchandising and International teams regarding final assortments and necessary updates.

Manages all order entry and product attributing based on the approved buying plan, initiating purchase order revisions as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the apparel retail sector.

Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel.

Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Comprehensive business acumen.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
