Job Summary

Labcorp is seeking a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional to lead our external financial reporting process. As an Executive Director, SEC Reporting, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and filing of financial statements, footnotes, and other necessary supporting documents for our quarterly and annual Form 10-Q and 10-K's, 8-K's, and Proxy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the external financial reporting process, including the preparation, review, and filing of financial statements, footnotes, and other necessary supporting documents.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional accounting teams and external auditors to address technical accounting and reporting matters, drive process improvements, enhance efficiency, and ensure adherence to SEC regulations.
  • Responsible for the preparation of SEC & GAAP checklists, analysis of key financial statement variances, and preparation of MD&A and other key SEC disclosures.
  • Research, assess, and document the applicability of new GAAP/SEC guidance and communicate to the broader finance team.
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting package and stock compensation accounting.
  • Key contributor to the company's finance transformation goals and initiatives, aimed at streamlining/automating all processes from record to report and continuous enhancements to the internal control environment.
  • Assist with the SOX documentation processes, including communicating with internal and external auditors for information requests and explanations related to audit requests and internal controls.
  • Champion process improvements and efficiency, leveraging technology as needed to enhance the SEC reporting processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain corporate accounting policies to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Monitor emerging guidance from regulators and financial reporting trends within the industry to proactively communicate impact to leadership.
  • Support special projects as necessary and mentor and train more junior staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience with minimum 3 years of Big Four public accounting experience working with SEC clients.
  • CPA required.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC Regulations, and best-practice financial reporting processes.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and experience manipulating large amounts of data in Excel.
  • Strong technology skills required, including the ability to use tools such as Alteryx to help drive efficiency in previously manual processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities while adhering to tight deadlines.
