Job Overview

The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in the execution of various research initiatives under the guidance of the Principal Investigator(s). This position is integral to our Behavioral Sciences Research Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of Research Study Implementation:

  • Oversees daily operations of multiple research protocols, including participant recruitment, retention, study visits, and data management.
  • Supports the creation and administration of data collection tools, offering training to research personnel as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with study-specific documentation as per Institutional Review Board (IRB) and sponsor guidelines.
  • Collaborates with other research sites and partners to facilitate the successful achievement of study objectives.
  • Monitors study progress and organizes weekly team meetings, ensuring effective communication among team members.
  • Participates in all study-related discussions and operational meetings.
  • Provides supervision and training to research staff as required.
  • Assists in onboarding new team members and conducting study visits, including informed consent processes and data collection.

Recruitment and Retention of Study Participants:

  • Works with the research team to devise innovative strategies for engaging potential study participants.
  • Leads recruitment efforts to meet participant enrollment targets.
  • Evaluates and documents the eligibility of candidates, coordinating appointments for baseline and follow-up assessments.
  • Conducts behavioral assessments with participants in a supportive and unbiased manner.
  • Implements strategies to enhance participant retention throughout the study.
  • Handles daily retention tasks, including participant follow-ups.

Development of Regulatory Procedures and Study Materials:

  • Contributes to the preparation of IRB submissions and annual reports in line with regulatory standards.
  • Drafts and revises essential study documents, including protocols and recruitment materials.
  • Maintains participant accountability records and communicates updates to the research team.
  • Conducts quality assurance checks on study documents to ensure compliance with operational procedures.
  • Maintains regulatory documentation as per IRB and sponsor requirements.

Collaboration with the Investigative Team:

  • Maintains ongoing communication with Principal Investigators and collaborators.
  • Generates and shares reports on recruitment, enrollment, and study progress.
  • Facilitates logistics for study team meetings and conference calls.

Data Analysis and Publication Support:

  • Assists in the analysis of research data and the publication of findings, including drafting manuscripts and preparing presentations.
  • Contributes to grant writing and progress reporting as needed.
  • Stays informed on current trends in HIV and public health research through continuous education.

Adherence to Agency Standards:

  • Complies with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Engages in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Maintains confidentiality and upholds safety protocols.
  • Participates in required meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience.
  • Background in HIV research and experience with diverse populations.
  • Experience with federally funded research projects.
  • Training in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new software.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to promoting equity and inclusion within the organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in recruitment efforts with underserved populations.
  • Familiarity with LGBTQ and sexual minority communities.
  • Experience in a culturally diverse work environment.
